I remember crying on the phone, and you were there. You were there when my parents were about to divorce, and you were there when I had a huge fight with my mom. You said you hated phone calls, but you listened when you heard my voice break.
It’s just comforting to hear you say, “it’s okay. Don’t worry”. I can be stubborn, but when I’m in despair, those words can save me.
We’ve practically known each other our whole lives, but in truth, the quantity of years we have spent together matters little. Its those times that became moments, and those moments that became history worth imprinting in our minds.
You were the bravest of us, the most genuine, and in your own way, the most beautiful. You reminded me to stay true to myself.
We also have contradicting opinions, but I love that. I laugh every time you say that what I choose to buy or wear is “hideous!” HAHAHHA ! And then, I buy it.
So here’s a brief letter to you, my best friend. Its short, its choppy and a little bit unorganized,
-but that’s how life is also.
I feel like ending here, but you know the depth of this letter.

I was taking my evening walk, and I heard this song. I’d like to dedicate it to Sophia Lu, Jenny Voong, Meisze Phung, and Jenny Luong. You’ve guys have taken up such a big part of my life. It all started when our seats at Chinese school was assigned to all corners of the room… and all the corners of a star. How we saw it this way, I’m not really sure. But nevertheless, we’ve taken a special liking to calling ourselves the “STAR” group.
Here’s the lyrics:
There are places I remember All my life though some have changed Some forever not for better Some have gone and some remain All these places had their moments With lovers and friends I still can recall Some are dead and some are living In my life I’ve loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers There is no one compares with you And these memories lose their meaning When I think of love as something new Though I know I’ll never lose affection For people and things that went before I know I’ll often stop and think about them In my life I love you more
Though I know I’ll never lose affection For people and things that went before I know I’ll often stop and think about them In my life I love you more In my life I love you more
It has a really innocent melody, and reminds me of how young we were. Of course, we’re still young now.. but my, have we grown!
